(no subject)

For that which we are about to receive or have already received, such as brisk autumn days, piles of crunchy yellow leaves, cute girls who ask me to join in a game of touch football, lamb and falafel pita sandwiches, housemates who vacuum, boys who mean what they say both when they say it and afterward, and gorgeous knee-high leather boots, dear Lord, make us truly thankful. Amen.

...but I probably won't hear you, 'cause it's loud with the shop vac on

Songs that have made me exceptionally happy in the last few days:

Jonathan Coulton - Shop Vac (CC-licensed, grab it for free!)
Apoptygma Berzerk - Cambodia (Edit: A cover of a Kim Wilde song. Who knew?)
Kevin Quain - Thief of Dances
VNV Nation - Beloved

Oh, I am full of procrastination tonight, but I promise I will at least do my grading. SF tickets are purchased, and $security_firm has graciously offered a car, so I will not need to inconvenience poor [livejournal.com profile] yoctohedron by needing to be driven all around the city. The actual interview day will probably not be useful for anything other than interviewing, as my flight leaves almost immediately thereafter, but any of you Bay Areans free duriing the weekend of the 18th-20th, give me a call or something.

Laundry. Yeah, laundry sounds like a good idea.
