If U Seek Amy, sung by Britney Spears, was announced as a single on January 9th, 2009. (The album was released November 28, 2008.)
My Life Would Suck Without You, sung by Kelly Clarkson, was released January 19, 2009. It broke the record previously set by Britney Spears for farthest jump up the Billboard Hot 100 (for "Womanizer", which itself displaced "Live Your Life" by T.I. the week before; as an unrelated side note, "Live Your Life" samples "Dragostea din tei" by O-Zone, otherwise known as the Numa Numa song).
All four of the songs linked were co-written, and some were produced, by Max Martin.
