As I drove away from the university for the last time, I kept my free hand on the cardstock diploma in the seat next to me. Part of me felt reflective, perhaps a little sad. The rest was hope; but most of it was hope that graduate school would turn out to be far less of a clusterfuck than getting a bachelor's degree had been.
