Acronym fun; houseguests
Aug. 28th, 2004 02:43 pmIt has been brought to my attention by kuro5hin.org that my initials can also be expanded to "Mindless Link Propagation". Maybe I'll take this as a suggestion. But probably not.
Abs hurt today, to the point where I'd much rather lie on the couch and let the cat play hot-water-bottle (hey, he's 75% water too, and his mean body temperature is a few degrees above mine) than do, well, much of anything, but DelphiGoth and L2 are coming over in about another fifteen minutes and I guess I should finish cleaning up the house so L2 has a comfortable place to sleep. (L2 is the amazingly bright 16-year-old who really needs to be adopted by the members of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
csmafia. This is the girl who, after I told her, "I don't have a book on Python for you just yet, but you could start by working through chapters 3, 4, and 5 of the tutorial; don't worry if you don't get the functional-programming stuff, you will soon enough," emailed me a few nights later with the subject line "Lambda forms are COOL!", and a few examples which showed me that, by God, she really does understand lambda functions. I sat on the couch and cried for half an hour.)
Tonight we are going to see Urn, who are not raffling off another guitar, but it should be a good show anyway. Tomorrow I am going to drag L2 around town and introduce her to other CS Mafiosi. Maybe we'll introduce her to sushi, too. Good times for all.
