And the world was covered in snow.
Jan. 4th, 2005 08:56 pmIt's been a quiet few days since I got back to Iowa City. In the intervening time, I've gotten some debugging done on the XSLT implementation of SHA-1 that I'm working on (yes, there is a good reason other than my perverse fascination with implementing things in absolutely the wrong language for the job), seen Ocean's Twelve (fun, though a little confusing in places), watched some of the Rurouni Kenshin DVDs that my brother sent me, put some more finishing touches on Nemesis, and learned how to knit. That last is courtesy of
meowmeowcatchow, aka Minion #2, with whom I spent a lovely afternoon at House of Aromas, and who was very tolerant of my staggering inability to follow visual directions.
We're supposed to get six to eight inches of snow tonight. It's nice to have relaxing indoor things to do. I can't really knit and code at the same time, and I already know I can't code and watch movies and expect to understand any of the plot, but I think I'll be able to knit and watch movies reasonably well. Besides, my boss emailed everyone and recommended that we avoid the roads tomorrow and VPN in if things were too nasty, so I think tonight will be a fantastic do-nothing night.
