Getting rid of stuff, part 1 of ?
Mar. 1st, 2005 08:31 pmOver the next couple of months I'm aiming to get rid of a lot of things I no longer need or use. I hope to keep posts like these intermittent and not too annoying. Clothing is going to Goodwill and books to the library/Bookcrossing, small and/or boring things will likely go direct to ebay, but there are some things I'd like to see go to a good home.
On that note, I'd like to sell my airsoft gun. (I'm keeping all the real ones.) It's a Tokyo Marui Steyr AUG, military version, with integral scope, a battery, and 4 magazines (regular capacity, 80rds). (I believe I also have a charger, though those aren't hard to find.) The spring has been upgraded to 350fps. It has been used in the field, but is in excellent condition. New, the gun itself would run about $240, and the magazines $18 apiece. I'm asking $200 for the lot.

Still more reasons why my job 0wns
Mar. 1st, 2005 11:48 pmI'm here at the office late tonight, working on a press release about the talk I gave two weeks ago and the fact that we've decided to open the SciTools source coinciding with the BOSC 2005 open-source bioinformatics conference. (Packaging a release for the first time, especially for a codebase this disparate and weird, takes a lot of work and organisation.) Once that's finished, I'm supposed to write up a for-internal-distribution description of the conference itself, telling the people in my department and the rest of IS about what went on, what cool things I learned, &c.
My boss has requested that I write this up in the style of Hunter S. Thompson. How cool is that?!
