An extreme overstatement & misinterpreting what is NOT. Perhaps you are one of Simon's undercover people here? ;) I absolutely DID NOT sense any animosity from Meredith towards Simon. She did an interpretation of the issues without any personal attacks.
By the way, Simon just did a 'keyboarded verbose' indirect response to Meredith's article here. It's at Animation World Mag site (4/18/08) and I'm sure will be re-posted everywhere. A confusing mess of brain frying info.
It does seem like Meredith's is a more rational analysis, however, I also do not totally trust what is going on, if another Orphan Works legislation is being introduced again (according to Simon). That's how the political bureaucrats work (either the Left or Right). It's many times, a game appeasing lobbyists & special interest and the public gets the 'bread crumbs'. If indeed, a new Orphan Works bill is going to be submitted, that has to be examined because it may be different than the one being discussed.
