Um, perhaps you're thinking of some other pGREEN? I'm using this one (http://www.carolina.com/product/pgreen+plasmid%2C+1+%26%23181-g+%28200+%26%23181-l-+0.005+%26%23181-g-%26%23181-l%29.do?keyword=pgreen&sortby=bestMatches), which Carolina Biological sells in this classroom demo kit (http://www.carolina.com/product/life+science/biotechnology+kits+%26+materials/transformation+and+advanced+techniques/green+gene+colony+transformation+kit+student+teach.do?sortby=ourPicks). They also have a pVIB transformation kit (http://www.carolina.com/product/life+science/biotechnology+kits+%26+materials/transformation+and+advanced+techniques/glow+in+the+dark+transformation+kit.do?sortby=ourPicks), and I have those in my freezer too.

In any case, the pGREEN I have certainly confers ampicillin resistance, as you can see in the diagram of the plasmid.
