I have no idea what the fuck kind of microorganisms decided to go on a multi-day bender in my digestive tract and lymphatic system, but I really, really hope that never happens again. (And I suspect [livejournal.com profile] enochsmiles will be happy if he never has to listen to me whimpering incoherently for two days in a row ever again, either.)

Time to go find out whether my body believes in the concept of "food" again yet. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Oh noes! 2009 is turning out to be a doozy for people. I hope you feel better soon.

Ugh, this sounds like what I caught back in DC. I'm leaning towards a norovirus explaination. I know a bunch of people in the DC area who have had the same symptoms in the last year.

And the transition from "I'll never eat food ever again" to suddenly craving food again is weird.

Eeep.

Good luck with that.

Norovirii suck a lot (if that's what it was.) Usually the three days after cessation of symptoms are still infectious.

If you continue having lots of problems, try baby food. Seriously, it's made to be digested by under-developed systems, so a severely upset GI will usually still accept it.

Also, because it's so quickly digested, even if your body does reject it after a while, you have a better chance of getting some nutrients to stick.

Watch your salts - it's really easy to run low on electrolytes when doing things like the BRAT diet. 1 cup of gatorade or similar will provide all you need for the day.
