Damn. Somehow, in the last week, even with everything else that's been going on, I managed to write ten pages of a paper. Well, ten pages if it were in SMF; it's about 2500 words at the moment, and it's only getting longer. Right now it's six pages without a title, which means it's too big for the NAACL student session, but I guess that's life.

This weekend: straightening up the living room is not catwaxing, dammit!

Also: I need an acronym for my project at work, the data-gathering system that will build classifiers based on user evaluations of CRISP abstracts. I have been told this is now top priority. Nothing good is coming to mind, though. Any ideas?

I have no idea what catwaxing means, but I got a really giggly visual when I read it. :)

Term coined by various writerly friends of mine to describe procrastination that involves doing other (increasingly less) productive things. "Oh, I can't write right now -- I have to go grocery shopping, do the laundry, wax the cat..."
