maradyddM-chan asked me to let the world know that I really am okay, and yes, I promise, I am. I really appreciate all the support from everyone who read my whining the other day, too. It's all gonna be all right.
C-kun and I just got back from Underworld -- my last one before I leave -- and everyone who didn't go missed right the fuck out, let me tell you that. Since the usual DJ quit two weeks ago, Carmina has been letting different people spin, and tonight my friend Lonnie and his friend David took a turn. I know a lot of locals didn't show up because they prefer rivet to goth, and, well, that's their loss. Turnout was still average for a Thursday, there were a lot of different people there, and a good 80% of them were out on the floor repeatedly.
Free "parting shots" from Carmina, a lap dance from Josh, boot worship from Slave, some of the weirdest candid photo ops you'll see this year, and one utterly kickass set from Lonnie -- this was a great night and a great sendoff. That is all.

Yeesh, it looks as if it's been a lively several months for you, but that still doesn't excuse you from the solid wall of silence (except for a brief email exchange a couple months ago) from the Sporkages.
I'm glad to know everything is going OK now. Iowa will kick ass. Or rather, you'll kick Iowa's ass.
Are you or are you not coming to Worldcon? Are you even still working on your novel? You don't seem to mention writing much in your later Journal installments, but you sound terrifically busy (and are speaking some other language this nontech can only identify as Geekspeak).
Goddamnit girl, your friends are worried about you! Do you have an email address anymore?

You're missed in Sporkdom. But I know how life gets busy, especially with a major move. I hope you settle well in Iowa! (Ah to hell with it, don't settle, just raise the roof). Drop us a line soon, will we see you in Philly, what the hell's going on?
You are probably one of the most articulate people I know. My journals are half-assed mumblings from a tired old freak. I'll be popping in to see whassup, so I hope things LOOK up (you know, for when those seagulls fly overhead...)
