Desert skies at night
Jul. 16th, 2005 12:44 amAs it turns out, BlackHat and Defcon coincide with a pair of minor meteor showers: the Delta Aquarids on the 27th-28th, and the Alpha Capricornids on the 30th-1st. Combined with possible scattered early Perseid activity, on a clear night far enough outside the city we could be in for a pretty good show.
One drawback is that the moon apparently hits last quarter on the 27th, and is up all night from ~11:45pm on the 27th, midnight on the 28th, and 1:30am on the 30th ... which is great as far as making an early night of it goes, but really, who wants to be out in the desert when there are parties going on? :P But, if anyone reading this will be at either conference and wants to make a go of it, I'm game.
