The hunting of the rent
Aug. 14th, 2005 12:48 amEvery month,
semanticsmc turns paying his share of the rent into a scavenger hunt. Usually, it's not too hard to solve, since he gets paid on the first and gives me the rent the same day. When I'm out of town at the beginning of the month, though, the stunts get much more elaborate (e.g. the winter break incident). He had almost a full week to prepare for August, and this time, he's gotten devious.
Some of the bills were reasonably obviously placed (e.g., in plain view on top of a bookshelf), but after about four or five days I'd only found ~$150. I was just fiddling with the tray of a printer I haven't used since last year, and $20 fell out. I can already tell I'm going to be finding random small denominations until I move.
