I have a bimodal LJ-post specialisation: either I write really freaking long essays, or one-liners aimed at capturing a specific image in as few words as possible.
This was perhaps an ultraminimalist version of the latter.

It was okay -- could have been a lot worse. Mostly just long. I'm sorry I wasn't around either; I did finish the yagi, but I haven't been able to test it yet.
Don't worry about mailing the pigtail and pants; I'll be around for Christmas (and for almost twice as long), and I have the adapter I need up here anyway. I'll bring Cliff's pants down when I come back, and I'll get the other stuff then.
Ok. BTW, do you know anyone who could do something with the milspec laptops idea? I really want to see something useful done with them - if I had more money, I'ld organize the thing myself.
If I had two or three grand to spare, I might do something with it, but I don't; the fact that they need RAM, hard drives, and network cards is really the killer. I mean, sixty $12 hard drives would cost $720, sixty $25 wireless cards would cost $1500 pre-rebate (and I don't even know if those Belkin cards work with Linux), and I don't even know how much laptop RAM costs these days.
