Robotics hobbyist Kevin Ross ran out of breadboards (predrilled nonconducting surfaces, used for prototyping circuits) one night, so he used a tortilla in place of one. It worked quite well. I thought this was pretty cool, but check out what happened when he used a habanero tortilla with one gold-plated and one tin-plated power connector -- it became a self-powering tortilla breadboard.

Science is cool!

This is evironmentally friendly, and smells very tasty as you solder.
hehehe

(I'm going to bed now, really I am!)

(but you did have to post a link to a rather amusingly distracting site, didn't you?)

Breadboards?

Breadboards? Girly, in my day we didn't have no breadboards! We made weird geometric art of the electrical components and the smell of burning flesh and we liked it!

Kids today. Tortillas. Hmph.

See, I kinda like the dead-bug method (aka ground-plane construction). It's ugly as hell, but can be surprisingly compact if you're careful.

Oh, and a nod to one of your comments from a few months ago -- this weekend I have to implement a multilayer perceptron as an assignment for my data mining class.

Also, did you get the $500 I sent you?

Very nice. Just when I'm tempted to write off modern science as hopelessly narcissitic, something like this comes along. It's simple, poetic, ecologocially friendly, and damn creative. I for one, would love it if that sort of thing caught on.

I'm also deeply amused by the fact that it was a complete freakin' accident. :)

One thing I remember from the history of science is that many of the greatest discoveries were found by accident.
