I have no idea why I'm remembering this right now, but the hands-down winner of last weekend's That's the Line of the Evening, Folks had to be:

"I felt naked without my crowbar."

And this wasn't in reference to a first-person shooter, was it?

You know I will never stop hating you, right? No matter how much we grow together over the years - I will always have a kernel of hate somewere in me. This is because envy lasts forever.:)

So, what was the story behind the quote?

$person_I_told_you_about (who really needs a nom de journal, I just haven't come up with one yet; perhaps he'll be MetasyntacticVariableBoy) was telling me about a sort of real-world Cloudmakers-style game he was participating in a while back. In a previous incarnation, he had brought a crowbar with him, and it proved useful, but for this round, he didn't have one, and felt rather at loose ends without it.

Sweet. I will have to hear the full story about these events from him at one point.

Evidently context is everything. However, there are some things that no amount of context will render comprehensible.

Lewis Black uses the following overheard comment as an example, "If it hadn't been for my horse, I would have never spent that year in college."

yes, absolutely

I love this line. By the way, this is a Wiscon friend with a feline name...how are you? Are you living in SF?! Are you going to Wiscon?

Big hugs and fuzzy crowbars

KAT!!!

I am indeed hoping to go to WisCon this year. More importantly, while I am not living in SF just yet, my current goal is to move there by the end of this calendar year.

Yargh! I've been to SF twice in the last month, and completely forgot you lived there! I'm such an idiot. But I'll be back for spring break, 14-19 March. We should do something!
