Well, I'm dropping linear programming. I hate to do it, but the course has taken a rapid turn for the multivariate calculus, and I was never all that good at calculus to begin with, nor have I ever had differential equations. Someday I'll have to take a look at the math section of MIT's Open CourseWare and catch up on all the continuous-math stuff I never learned, but even with the whole invincibility thing I think not trying to learn three semesters of math in the next eight weeks is the better part of valour.
I also seem to have quadruple-booked myself tomorrow, as there are two things for which I am supposed to be at work (admittedly, one of these is talking to my boss about making bioluminescent yogurt, so really not the Most Pressing Thing Evar), class at 9:30, a student I'm supposed to meet at 10:45, a brief meeting with one of the profs I'm TAing for at that same time, a different prof who wants to talk with me about the quick-and-dirty algorithm I wrote up for blind set-difference sometime tomorrow morning, a meeting with my adviser at which I am supposed to demonstrate the code I wrote up this summer (which still isn't feature-complete) and talk about a couple of papers (which I haven't yet read) at 1:30, an appointment to get my hair cut and coloured at 2 (fortunately, only five minutes' walking distance from my office, and they're usually running late anyway), class again at 3:55, and then I'm hosting a pumpkin-carving party at 6pm. Ack thud flump and I still need to tidy and vacuum the living room.
At least I'll be well and truly set to get lots of sleep on the airplane on Friday. I'm off to Toronto for Halloween, where I plan to party like a rockstar minus the hookers and blow, put in an appearance at this, and wander around dressed as the Shadow while making suitable mua-ha-ha-ha noises.
Right, then, tea and work.
