For that which we are about to receive or have already received, such as brisk autumn days, piles of crunchy yellow leaves, cute girls who ask me to join in a game of touch football, lamb and falafel pita sandwiches, housemates who vacuum, boys who mean what they say both when they say it and afterward, and gorgeous knee-high leather boots, dear Lord, make us truly thankful. Amen.

Well, I'll be thankful that someone gets to receive them, at least. Although I have it on the best authority that it is entirely possible there will be at least one brisk autumn day between now and Christmas, cruncy yellow leaves seem right out.
And perhaps worst of all, I think I've become the housemate who vacuums.
But fear not; I instead will be thankful of shorts weather that lasts clear through Valentine's Day.

If I'm lucky I'll be in California by Valentine's Day, and if next Valentine's Day is anything like this last one, it will be warm enough there for shorts, too. As long as it isn't raining. :)

If it's warm enough to rain, it's warm enough for shorts.
Besides, I don't think it actually rains in California; although occasionally they may have some rain airlifted in from Seattle.

yeah, we voted against rain in the last city council meeting. Although I think there's a Fog Proposition coming up in the election next week.. can't wait to see who's bankrolling *that* one.
