Figured out what was wrong with my iTunes server; turns out that daapd-0.2.4a crashes intermittently, but 0.2.3d works just fine -- it relies on a lot more libraries, some of which aren't packaged for Debian (yes, Virginia, there are such things!), but it behaves. And there's something kind of neat about having 43.5 days of music to listen to.

Finals are done. I have grading I need to do tonight, though, and a few assignments left to finish. There went my plans to actually show up at work regularly this week.

I'd like it very much if it would hurry up and be next Tuesday, but I have a lot of packing to do before then. [livejournal.com profile] semanticdm05 and I have a ton of things to take to Goodwill, and eventually I'm going to have to go on a huge paper-excavation expedition through this house. [livejournal.com profile] ti94 and I took seven boxes of books, totaling approximately 350 pounds, to the post office last night. I think there are another twelve boxes downstairs. Yeah, I have a lot of books.

One step at a time, I guess.

Ooh... you have a bit more music than I do... I'm going to hit 40 days in about three hours.

what exactly does your iTunes server do?

It has 70GB of music on it that I can listen to from any machine in the house.

neet!!! make me one! ;) I wish we'd had that back in texas. i wanted to listen to my music up in my room, and the whole folder sharing thing across the network never ever worked right.
