I used iResQ in the past as well, but had a much better experience with them. It was back when they were called something else, perhaps "MacResQ", I forget. Sent in a dead iPod. The hard drive had crashed and was now useless, as I had suspected, and they gave me the choice of paying for a new HD to be installed or just selling the iPod carcass to them for $30. I took the money, because my iPod was obsolete at the time anyway. Nothing but a smooth transaction from them.
