scenes from my living room

(SCENE: the couch. SASHA, the cat, is asleep across my forearms while I code.)

([livejournal.com profile] maradydd frees an arm from under the cat and pops open a can of Red Bull.)
RED BULL CAN: *crrrack*
SASHA: Mrap!
(SASHA wakes up and starts nosing at the can, with intent.)
[livejournal.com profile] maradydd: Sasha. You're a cat. Cats don't need caffeine.
SASHA, attempting to bite the bottom of the can: Ack mrack.
[livejournal.com profile] maradydd: No. You don't get Red Bull because you don't have opposable thumbs to open the can with.
SASHA: Hrrrf. *gives up and lies down again*

But, but, it has taurine. It must be cat food!

Hah! I hadn't thought of that.

He loves coffee flavoured ice cream and will attempt to steal it from [livejournal.com profile] enochsmiles if it's left unattended for even a moment. He doesn't care about any other flavour, but coffee is like crack for him.

Dear googli-moogli. You let that cat run around DRUGGED. How are you still alive?

Yeahhh.. that argument is only going to work until someone biohacks a drop-in retro-virus to encode the right homobox genes for thumbs.

And, see, I'd totally do that, except I know my cat way too well.

The cat will find a way one day.

You're right, and that scares me.

One of our cats thinks bread products are like the best. thing. ever. Especially cinnamon rolls and donuts.

Oh, and mine likes vegetables and fruit.

Hah! My old cat Bounce (now living with my mom) is nuts for Chex Mix, so much so that we had to stop buying it. I didn't think they needed much in the way of carbs, and they can't even taste sugar, so I have no idea what the attraction is.

Sasha goes nuts for avocado and cherries...

We have this same conversation with one of our cats regarding access to Thai food and the inability to order takeout without thumbs...
