panic and moving

Four and a half years ago, I put everything I cared about in a Saturn and drove halfway across the country to start a new chapter in my life in Iowa.

Today, I have too much stuff to be able to do that, and this whole moving concept is driving me to shaking fits of frustration.

If anyone wants:
  • a queen-size pillow-top mattress and box spring
  • a black metal four-poster canopy bed frame, queen-sized, with canopy
  • a matching nightstand
  • a twin-sized daybed with cherry wood corner posts and black metal sides
  • a cushy blue recliner
  • a hat tree with a marble base
  • a couple of glass-topped metal end tables
  • a glass-topped wooden coffee table
  • a butcher-block table
  • a metal cabinet on wheels with a hole cut in the back so that it works as an entertainment centre
  • a couple of desks
  • a plastic deck table with four chairs and an umbrella
and you can figure out how to get them from Iowa City to wherever you are, you can have them.

At this point I'm ready to mail all my books to $sysadmin and do this the way I know how to.

Hey, if you have anything left you want to get rid of that will fit into my Civic when I come down to IC to visit next weekend, I might just take it off your hands.

..however, I am intending to probably move across country soon too, so then I'll just have to get rid if it ;)

It'd be cool if you then gave it to someone else who was also moving soon. See how many hands it goes through before finally finding a good home/junkyard.

*snif* I want my things to go to to someone who will love them and get lots of use out of them, not just send them to a junkyard...

Eventually they'll end up with someone who loves them...

Hell, almost every stick of furnature I own was gotten second-hand in a college town... who knows how many people have already fondled it.
